OVERNIGHT SKI TRIPS 2025

Note: Ski club membership is required for participation in overnight trips. Upon joining the club you will receive complete trip details including trip leaders’ contact information.
For all trips except the Laurentian Week, the leader will give you a list of recommended lodging options and you will make your own reservations.

January 17-19 (Friday-Sunday) – Lapland Lake (southern Adirondacks)
Come join the Finnish spirit in the southern Adirondacks for a fun-filled weekend of cross-country skiing at one of the 10 Best Readers’ Choice
Cross-Country Resorts in America, according to USA TODAY.
Lapland Lake is in a snow basin microclimate which enjoys
some of the most reliable snowfalls in the East.
Total of 38 kilometers of groomed trails available from beginner to advanced.

February 13-17 (Thursday-Monday) – New Hampshire (North Conway area)
There are five primary Nordic facilities we can visit, all within 30 minutes of most North Conway hotels.
Click on a name to go to the ski center’s website:
Bear Notch
Jackson XC
Bretton Woods
Great Glen Trails
King Pine
Après-ski: North Conway is also a premier destination for outlet shopping.

February 23-March 1 (Sunday-Saturday) Laurentian Ski Week
Five days of “le ski magnifique” in a cross-country ski wonderland an hour northwest of Montreal.
We arrive on Sunday, ski Monday through Friday, and leave on Saturday.
Our lodging is at a small inn in the charming village of Val-David
with six cross-country ski centers less than a half-hour away,
and backcountry trails criss-crossing the area. For this trip, the leader is making the lodging reservations for the group.

March 1-2 (Saturday-Sunday) Prospect Mountain (Woodford VT, near Bennington)
2000-foot elevation makes for great snowfall, yet it is less than four hours from northern New Jersey. Prospect Mountain is the highest XC ski point in Vermont. Great flats and nice hills–30km x-c ski & 6km Snowshoe.
Restaurant serves hearty lunches and light snacks. Ski rentals and waxing room available.

DAY TRIPS (will be scheduled when snow conditions permit)
We schedule very few day trips in advance because of the unpredictability of snow conditions. Most day trips are organized on short notice as snow conditions permit through the e-mail listserv “New Jersey Nordic Skiers and Snowshoers” on groups.io. These day trips are initiated by individual members of that group. They are not approved or sponsored by the New Jersey Nordic Ski Club, and all liability rests with the individuals involved. Cross-Country Ski and Snowshoe Clinics
Club member Dan McAuliffe will be co-leading cross-country ski and snowshoe clinics on Sunday, January 19 and Saturday, February 15 from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Washington Crossing State Park in Titusville NJ. The clinic will begin with a 1-1/2 hour class indoors followed by a one-hour ski (snow conditions permitting). To register, call the park at (609)737-9303 or go to the website: WCPA Meetup (details not posted yet as of January 3)
NOTE: The clinics are not sponsored by the New Jersey Nordic Ski Club.
